The Hotel Industry

Slim minimalist lines with high quality veneered finishes, the integration of lighting, wiring and electronics...

Competition for guests is higher than ever as are the guest’s expectations. Guests will think nothing of asking to see the room before checking in and if the room looks in anyway tired they will be out of the door.

Hoteliers are now finding that refurbished rooms are required to compete in this growing, competitive and highly prosperous market.  However they are reluctant to reduce rates, knowing too well that it will take a further 5 years to rebuild them.  Hoteliers are now offering added value elsewhere and competing by offering the likes of refurbished rooms and a free breakfast.

Hoteliers are expected to become more ‘comfort orientated’, competing by creating environments that are warm and welcoming, thus ensuring repeat business and brand loyalty.  It’s expected that hotel designers will be looking for strong patterns and colours, wrap-around furniture and ‘big’ upholstered features.

This is a competitive market and as such hoteliers are looking to buy from companies who manufacture the products themselves and who can offer specialist advice on how to design a beautiful, long lasting product, whilst saving any unnecessary costs.

What are the latest trends in luxury hotel development?
Slim minimalist lines with high quality veneered finishes, the integration of lighting, wiring and electronics into the furniture, including interfaces between ipods and laptops to the hotels own TV and audio systems (e.g. with docking stations built into the furniture).

Many hotels still want contemporary uncluttered design; however they want the luxury of high quality finishes, preventing the room from looking too stark.
